Not Sleepless in Seattle
And here we are, Day 3 in Seattle.
It’s been fun and relaxing. Soooooo nice to sleep in and actually get a decent amount of sleep.
I came up to see….
and we went over to
to go watch a little
Unfortunately the Mariners got crushed 11-2. Ichiro was definitely a hightlight. He was up first for the Mariners and hit a solo home run. And one time, while tossing the ball around between innings, the back up catcher, who was standing in right field towards teh bullpen gate, made a target with his mitt for Ichiro. Ichiro, who was standing deep in centerfield, glanced at the target and then threw the ball four inches from the target. Apparently they play this game all the time but it was fun to see it first hand.
And while the game was a bust for Mariners fans, I did get to watch the game from the centerfield fence, see a grand slam, watch some heckling fans interact with a good humored Twins centerfielder Torii Hunter, and watch the dome close over Safeco Field.
Also, I fit in a mitt.
