Life as I know it… plus commentary

Car update

with 4 comments

It’s funny how the mind works.  I’m in the car with Sesma and telling her the story of what happened to my car.  And then it hits me… the one thing that connects the cooling system, the electrical system and the power steering is the belt system.  And that’s the diagnosis from the auto repair place this morning.

Apparently the power steering tensioner snapped (which made my steering difficult).  In snapping, the belt got tangled in the radiator fan (causing over heating problems) and messed with the other belts (which somehow affected the alternator).  Anyway, the cool mom and pop repair place (it’s actually grandfather, father and son place) is taking care of the whole thing today, leaving me with a running auto and a very manageable repair bill.

The idea of a new car is still a working one though.  I’ll keep y’all posted on that.

  1. You used “y’all” in a sentence!!!!!! On behalf of Southerners everywhere (which, of course, includes Zac), I have to say that we’re so proud of you, Arnold.

  2. It’s so nice to have a reliable place to take your car for repairs! It always stresses me out having to find a new car mechanic or hair stylist. 🙂

  3. I think the Bible actually says finding an honest mechanic is like resting under a cedar in Lebanon.
