Life as I know it… plus commentary

Wisdom learned from walking around…

  • Eastern European taxi cab drivers will play cards or start shouting matches with each other at the drop of a hat.
  • Sometimes Eastern European taxi cab drivers get into actual fights but no one runs in to break up fights anymore.  People just break out their cell phones and start videotaping. (You know who would break up a fight if he saw one happening?  Sting.)
  • If you’re on the large side and shaped like a teddy bear, you shouldn’t wear an all purple coordinated jogging suit.
  • You can find dumb signs anywhere.  Like the one that says “Parking, located conveniently near Old Town” when you have to be in Old Town to see the sign.
  • Cashiers don’t listen.  “Welcome to Pinkberry… got it….. name?” “Arnold.”  “OK!  Thanks Paul!”
  • Cashiers don’t really read.  “$3.75”  :: I hand her my VISA and she reads the name. :: “OK!  Thanks Paul!”
  • There are people who think his name is Obama Baracka.

It makes me want to stop walking around.
