Obama/McCain update

with one comment

Yesterday, Barack Obama spoke to a crowd of 200,000 in Berlin and cast a vision of a world standing as one.

“The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand,” he said, referring to festering divisions between Europe and the United States opened up by the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

“The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand.

“The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down,” Obama said in a speech covered live on German and US television.

Meanwhile, McCain ate at a German restaurant and ran anti-Obama ads in Berlin, PA.

  1. This post got me thinking about your political allegiances. And, let’s face it, in the face of such media bias these days, it was time for a political call-out to Arnoldcam headquarters as to where they stand (especially in light of allegations of recent disparaging comment regarding gun racks and banjos).

I’m wondering if you’ve become an uncritical (dare I say: emotional) supporter of Obama, reacting in his defense at every turn.

A quick glance at your political posts and comments reveals an attitude that has been unwavering in supporting Obama and ridiculing McCain. You labeled me a Republican when I said there’s no reason not to drill. You offered a convoluted analogy (amounting to “it doesn’t matter”) when Obama went back on his promise to use public financing. You even defended Rev. Wright by saying he’s misunderstood, and you offered a non sequitur rant in defense of Wright when I asked if the mission of his church was at all Pauline.

My question: Have you ever made a single critical comment about Obama (or even referred to one) in print in the last year or so? Likewise, have you made a positive comment about McCain? I’m assuming you still classify yourself as “Libertarian.” How does this all fit together?

This love affair with Obama is starting to look rather emotional on the part of his avid supporters…not unlike a similar love affair by millions for Hillary not long ago. Though not strictly “ironic,” this phenomenon is at least “poetic.”
