German police have confiscated what is purported to be the world’s fastest office chair. Two 17 year old German kids took an office chair, a lawnmower engine and some iron framing and drove the chair around their town… until die Polizei said enough.

Despite eight medals in one Olympics, someone makes the case Michael Phelps is not even top five, much less the greatest Olympian ever.

What happens when a loaf of bread used to cost 200,000 Zimbabwe dollars but now costs 1.6 trillion dollars? 11,200,000% inflation.

And for the only other political nerd on this site, here’s Monday’s line up at the DNC:
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi;
Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri;
Barack Obama’s sister Maya Soetero-Ng and Craig Robinson, Michelle Obama’s older brother;
Jerry Kellman, mentor and long-time friend of Barack Obama;
Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr.;
former Indiana Representative Lee Hamilton;
Tom Balanoff, President of Illinois SEIU;
Nancy Keenan, President of NARAL Pro-Choice America;
NEA President Reg Weaver;
AFT President Randi Weingarten;
Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan;
State Comptroller Dan Hynes;
Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulis;
Chicago City Clerk Miguel del Valle;
and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.
Monday night will also feature a tribute to Senator Edward M. Kennedy.  I can’t imagine myself actually wanting to hear from anyone on this list other than reg Weaver just to hear the topics he’ll cover and of course, Eric and Nathalie’s mayor.

And in other news, Seattle is nice.

  1. I agree with you about that list for the DNC! Who cares about the Obamas siblings?! And Ted Kennedy? I’m sorry to beat an almost dead horse here, but the only reason why he got into office is because of Jack and Bobby. He should have been long gone after he drowned his pregnant girlfriend.
    The office chair rocks! Can you imagine someone actually bringing that into work?! It would certainly liven up an otherwise boring day at the office!
