Life as I know it… plus commentary

Even more bad news…

I said I wouldn’t post any more political posts but the blog is practically writing itself now…
Bad news-
Senior Republican Senator Chuck Hagel speaks out:

“I think it’s a stretch to, in any way, to say that she’s got the experience to be president of the United States,” Mr Hagel told the Omaha World-Herald newspaper.

And he was dismissive of the fact that Mrs Palin, the governor of Alaska, has made few trips abroad.

“You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don’t know what you can say. You can’t say anything.”

Mr Hagel also criticised the McCain campaign for its suggestion that the proximity of Alaska to Russia gave Mrs Palin foreign policy experience.”I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, ‘I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia’,” he said.

“That kind of thing is insulting to the American people.”

More bad news-
John McCain is trying to make the case that he’s one of us.  These two endorsements are not helping…

Gazzilionaire Donald Trump who thinks McCain’s a great guy, a tremendous guy and the fabulously wealthy lawyer and entrepreneur who made $100 million on her own before she married her fabulously wealthy husband, the Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild who thinks Obama is an elitist.

Yeah, they’re just like me.

Still more bad news –
Palin, who was fine cooperating with the ethics inquiry before the nomination now says she won’t help the ethics probe.

Before the nom, the bipartisan inquiry had full support from the governor, her family and her staff… now apparently, the inquiry has been hijacked by ‘Obama operatives‘.

And even more bad news-
Latinos are mad.  The Spanish are mad.  Radio interviewers are mad.  Why?  Because the Pain in Spain Falls Mostly on McCain.  Sancta Maria!!

So much bad news… but this might be the worst.  Time Magazine has pronounced:

John McCain has raised serious questions about whether he has the character to lead the nation. He has defaced his beloved military code of honor. He has run a dirty campaign.

while the New York TImes says:

John McCain tried on yet another new personality Tuesday, ranting about “abuses on Wall Street” and promising to “put an end to the greed” with new regulations.

And I thought the week couldn’t get any worse for him.
