Yorba Linda Fire Evacuation Map

with 3 comments

It took a while to find this on Google.  You’d think it’d be pinned to the front but here’s where the fire is. My parents are near Kellogg and Imperial.  They’re close but not too close.  The high school there was designated as an evacuation center but the Red Cross decided it was too close to the fire.  Yikes!

  1. Did they end up leaving? I ended up staying with my parents last night because the apartment complex at the other end of my street was put on notice to possibly evacuate. I said to heck with it, I’m not waiting and grabbed all my important paperwork and scrapbooks (fortunately I needed to do my laundry at their house-I’m cheap-so I already had clothes in the car) and got the heck out of there. I live fairly close to Chino Hills State Park.

  2. No, they were smokey but fine. In fact, my mom said if they got the evacuation notice, they’d go to a shelter because they didn’t want to impose on any one. LOL, even natural disasters don’t mitigate family weirdness.

How did you survive? I think CHSP was pretty much destroyed according to the map.

  3. It’s called staying with your parents the first night when the smoke was bad. I’m sorry, people told me I was paranoid because it wouldn’t burn as far as my condo, but I don’t care.

I live five plus minutes from CHSP by car. I’m close but I can’t say I’m right there. Sorry if I sound overly dramatic, but paranoia can help in situations like this!
