Unity, Harmony, Destiny and Colbert
Those could be the names of the modules of the International Space Station if Colbert fans have their way.
NASA had the misfortune of having a contest to name the next module and fans of the Colbert Report jumped in the fray giving Colbert the lead with 25% of the Votes. Fans of the sci-fi show Serenity wanted to memorialize their favorite ship with their choice. This at least would avoid the “one of these things is not like the others” scenario.
Fans of “The Colbert Report” made “Colbert” the No. 1 submission in a NASA contest to name a new wing of the international space station.
Still, NASA reserves the right to name the wing of the space station and says it will not make a final decision on the matter until next month.
“Colbert” pulled in 230,539 of the more than 1.1 million submissions in the contest, according to NASA spokesman John Yembrick.
It’s unclear wether the module wuld be pronounce “Coal-bert” or “Coal-bear”.
