Life as I know it… plus commentary

On style, Bs and shopping

This is pretty interesting.  Guess who the most highly paid person on the McCain/Palin ticket is.  Foreign policy advisor?  Nope.  He only makes half of what Sarah Palin’s stylist makes.

Amy Strozzi, who works on the reality show “So You Think You Can Dance” and has been Palin’s traveling stylist, was paid $22,800, according to campaign finance reports for the first two weeks in October. In contrast, McCain’s foreign policy adviser, Randy Scheunemann, was paid $12,500, the report showed.

And the McCain supporter who was attacked by a 6’4″ black man who supported Obama and who carved a B in her face.  Well… she made it all up.  I’m thinking, if I was a cop working the case, the backwards B (which was probably carved by her in a mirror) would have been my first clue that something was not right.  Another sad girl who needs attention.  Cops are billing these people for wasted police time now so this prank may be costly for her.

And that 150,000 shopping spree?  Never happened.  And if it did happen, the clothes were never worn and just left on the plane.  And if they were worn, then they were only worn three weeks and will be returned or given to charity.  Who’s going to take clothes back with sleaze and grime all over them?

And here’s your Friday curmudgeon bonus… did John McCain’s brother call 911 to complain about traffic?

And here’s a second bonus.  Since people complain that I write only about McCain and Palin and not enough about Obama, here’s an article about Obama allegedlly taking a vacation in the middle of his campaign.  What’s he thinking!

OK, here’s third Friday bonus for you.  Sarah Palin outfits are flying off the shelves, but who’s buying them?  Not who you think.

Jerry Moore, retail manager of Norcostco Texas Costumes in the Stemmons Corridor, said that without any prepared Palin costumes, he mostly just gives do-it-yourself advice.

“I tell people to get a brown wig, or if you can’t get brown at this late date, black. You need to pull it up into a bun and then have the long hair cascading down,” he said.

“And I tell them I would go to Payless and buy some high heels – the higher the better.”

How many women have requested the Palin look?

Mr. Moore paused.

“It’s usually not women,” he said. “I’ve had only maybe four women say they want to dress like Sarah Palin, but I’ve had about two dozen men.

“It’s more a drag thing.”

  1. You’ve outdone yourself in your exceedingly fair and balanced coverage of the issues that really matter in this important election. I’m going to revisit this post this weekend with ballot in hand. Thank you for your tireless work.

  2. Even if I dress like her, I don’t think I would be able to be as stupid as her. Maybe I even be able to make her intonation and mousy look.
but pretend and tell that I see Russia from my house- I think I can’t.
Then maybe I will be McCain. 😉
